Steel, not plated
The whole exterior of a POPBUILDS watch is stainless steel — case, octagonal bezel, integrated bracelet and clasp. That matters because plating is where cheap custom watches fail first: a coated case looks identical in photographs and shows its base metal at the lug edges within a year. Solid steel wears instead of peeling. It picks up hairlines on the polished bevels, which is what a steel sports watch is supposed to do, and those hairlines can be brought back with a cloth and, eventually, a light refinish.
The finishing you can actually see
Two textures do the work on these cases: broad brushed surfaces on the case flanks and bracelet top links, and a mirror-polished bevel that runs from the bezel edge down the length of the bracelet. The contrast between the two is what makes a steel watch look expensive at arm's length — polish reads as a bright line, brushing as a matte field, and the eye follows the line. Because the case is octagonal, each corner catches light separately, so the watch flickers as you move rather than glowing evenly.
Weight, size and comfort
At 41 mm across, 12 mm thick and all-steel, these builds have real heft — they sit rather than float. The integrated bracelet spreads that weight across the wrist instead of hanging it from two lugs, which is why an all-steel integrated watch usually wears more comfortably than a lighter watch on a strap. Extra links, a link tool and a pin pusher come in the box so you can dial in the fit at home; the bracelet covers roughly 14–21 cm.
