Deep blue, done properly
Blue is the hardest colour to get right on a steel watch. Too bright and it looks like a fashion piece; too dark and it may as well be black. Lan Ba sits in the narrow band in between: a deep, saturated blue that holds its colour under office light and shifts almost to navy in shade. Against the cold grey of the stainless-steel case, that depth is what gives the watch its presence — the dial looks set into the metal rather than painted on. The sub-seconds detail breaks the symmetry of the dial and gives the eye somewhere to land, which is why this build photographs so much better on the wrist than it does flat on a table. Lan Ba is the build customers buy when they want one watch that works with a suit and with a Sunday jumper, and it is priced as one of our upper-mid builds because the dial and hand set are the most demanding in the range to fit cleanly.
