The story
Inside the Orenji Hachi
Blue dial, orange signature
Orenji Hachi is our sport-leaning build. A blue dial with orange indices is a combination borrowed from dive and racing watches for a reason: orange on blue is the highest-contrast pairing the eye can read quickly, which makes this the most legible dial we assemble. In practice that means you check the time at a glance rather than tilting your wrist into the light. At €1,599 it sits near the top of the range because the dial and matched hand set are a limited run and the colour matching between indices and hands has to be exact — an orange hand that misses the index shade by a shade looks wrong immediately. The case is the same 41 mm stainless steel with the octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet, so the sport character comes entirely from the dial rather than from a bezel insert or rubber strap.
Movement & crystal
Inside the Orenji Hachi runs a Seiko NH35: a 24-jewel automatic movement that winds itself from the motion of your wrist and can also be wound by hand. It hacks and hand-winds, which means you can stop the seconds hand to set the time precisely — a small detail that separates a considered build from a novelty. Because the movement is mechanical, expect the character of a mechanical watch: a sweeping seconds hand, a soft rotor hum, and a rate that drifts a little rather than the dead accuracy of quartz. A sapphire crystal protects the dial and a second sapphire pane forms the exhibition caseback, so the movement stays visible instead of hidden behind steel. Sapphire is used on both sides because it is the only crystal material that keeps a watch at this price looking new after a year of desk diving and door frames.
Sizing, wear & care
The Orenji Hachi measures 41 mm across and 12 mm thick, which keeps it under a shirt cuff while still wearing with presence. The integrated bracelet is part of the case design rather than an accessory bolted on, so the lines run uninterrupted from the case flank to the clasp. Your watch arrives with extra links, a link removal tool and a pin pusher, letting you size the bracelet yourself in roughly two minutes: push out a pin, add or remove a link, push the pin back. With the supplied links the bracelet fits approximately 14–21 cm wrists. Treat it as a splash-resistant watch — rain and hand-washing are fine, swimming, showering and diving are not. A microfibre cloth keeps the brushed and polished steel surfaces sharp, and the watch will run happily as long as it is worn regularly or wound by hand every couple of days.

The Orenji Hachi is €1,599 with free shipping from our EU warehouse. Orders are picked, inspected and dispatched from stock, with delivery usually inside a few days and up to roughly two weeks at peak load; if order volume is unusually high we may extend shipping times or cancel and refund an order rather than ship something we are not happy with. Checkout runs on Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant payment pages. Because every watch is assembled by hand to order, we do not offer returns — instead we stand behind the build itself: if a fault is caused by our assembly, or the watch arrives damaged, we provide a free replacement or an appropriate remedy. Each build is hand-assembled, so small variations between individual watches are part of the process rather than a defect.
